Well why the hell wouldn’t you?! Working for yourself gives you:
💥Freedom
💥Independence
💥An enormous sense of achievement
💥Flexibility
💥And so much more
…but you know all of that, the question now is how?
So, the first thing I would always suggest you do to is to consider your skillset. What is it you can do that a business out there needs? Are you excellent at copy writing? Are you a diary ninja? Can you make an inbox of 125,963 unread emails make sense? Are you a marketing master? Do you have tech nailed?
Of course, your services are not limited to what you do well (at this stage). Once you get started and find that first client, you’ll naturally start expanding your knowledge. You’ll hear about tech you may never have heard of before like Asana, Kartra and Canva. You’ll find that your clients want you to do things you’d never even considered doing - maybe they’ll ask you to write their weekly newsletter, create graphics for social media or even research and book their holiday.
And through doing these new things which you’ve not tried before, you’ll discover new things about yourself. You’ll find you’ve got a knack for taking on your clients voice in their marketing or you’ll discover you can organise their Asana like a boss.
So that’s stage one…thinking. Thinking and writing down ideas is a good place to start. But don’t think for too long. Let’s move on to doing..
So stage two - join Facebook/LinkedIn/*enter new exciting social media platform* groups for local business owners and/or VAs. Talk to people. Start putting the feelers out there.
